Six for six

It is now the sixth month of the year so I shall group some thoughts in sixes.

I'm feeling a bit rubbish today so I'll start with THE GOOD:
1. Lowest weight so far for 2 days running 198.8lbs
2. I can wear shorts without leggings/tights and no-one screams and/or laughs
Skinny goat (thank you flattering mirror) in a messy room
3. Couch to 5k week 5 completed - I ran 20 whole minutes and it wasn't even that hard
4. I am so way ahead of where I need to be with half marathon training = I am awesome

5. The more I run the more great things I see round London
Floaty blocks at the Southbank Centre - Monday evening's run

6. Four days off work, thank you Queenie

THE BAD
1. Jubilee = jubilee party at work = eating A LOT of food today
2. Colleagues leaving work = cake and drinks = eating A LOT of food (and drinking) yesterday
3. Generally there is too much food at work, in fact someone bought me jelly babies to say thank you for a presentation I did last week
Outside: Aw, thanks, that's so nice of you!
Inside: Why would you do this to me?!
4. Binge days mean I'm losing weight at a snails pace
5. What if I lose weight and get gross loose skin? (ew)
6. Never mind loose skin, I'm still fat!

THE JUNE GOALS
1. Complete couch to 5k
2. Run a 10k (good boost from 5k, signed up for local one on the 16th)
3. Implement cunning "eat fruit instead of cake" plan at work
4. Get down to at least 195lbs
5. Keep doing occasional strength/abs training to decrease loose skin likelihood (ew)
6. Get body brush and scrub body regularly for nice exfoliated summer skin and to decrease loose skin likelihood (ew)

New goals

What's that? Everyone did their new goals at the start of January which makes this post rather late on the scene? Yeah well, that's the way this goat roles!

So having failed my Christmas goals I am going to have to reshuffle a bit. I'm still aiming for 170lbs at some point this year and also running a half marathon but I obviously need to break things down ("break it down!").

Key date and key weights:

Today - not sure, didn't get on the scales so we'll see tomorrow (it's about 207lbs)

20th March (me birfday!) -200lbs

25th March - 3 mile run

24th April ooooohhhhh New York - 193lbs (random number yes)

21st October - Run to the Beat half marathon

So the birthday is an obvious goal, losing a bit more by then would hopefully abate my "quarter life crisis", not that I'll be having one my life's pretty sorted, and getting more so with the weight loss! The 3 mile race is for sport relief in central London and something I'm doing with some friends. Finally I'm, going to NYC! So incredibly excited but also want to make sure I can make the most of New York shopping opportunities and, sadly, I don't want to be the only non-hot English girl on out trip (got to work the accent in the states).

Lastly but never leastly a couple of things were said to me this weekend:
"You're not fat anymore, you're just a bit chubs now, but definitely not a fatty." (My ever honest sister)
"You're stunning." (This one can be taken with a pinch of salt but still brings a smile to my face)

Christmas goals

Let's talk goals for Christmas (to avoid the fact I didn't go for a run today, ssshhhh)

Christmas is quite a good motivator for me as I usually spend it with my healthy farming relatives who are all obviously fit and slim thanks to their physical jobs but also because a number of them are neurotic about their weights.

Either way, I've always felt a certain disappointment or just "unimpressedness" from this side of the family about my weight. But this also means that when they comment positively on my weight loss they really mean it - these are people that don't hand out compliments freely!

So today I've decided to set myself a two tier goal:
Main goal  - by Christmas I will be in the 100s.
Bonus prize - by Christmas have lost 10lbs from today (this would make me 197.8lbs as of today).

So thems the goals. I know it's not a massive challenge but it does really feel like that to me. Especially as I worked out today I've only lost a stone (14lbs) in the passed year so I kind of feel like if I can push it to lose that much by Christmas I'll really have got the ball rolling for a great new year.

Anyhow, tomorrow there will be a running update, promise!
